Program Description:
Partner Overview
Located on the edge of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, USA, Bellarmine University is a vibrant community of educational excellence and ethical awareness.  The university offers more than 50 degree subjects in the arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and health sciences.  The beautiful campus is spread over 144 acres and includes eight halls of residence.  The university boasts an excellent faculty to student ratio, with an average class size of 20 students.  Bellarmine has approximately 3,500 students, of which 2,500 are undergraduates.

Known as the ‘Bluegrass State’ because of the type of grass that flourishes in its fertile soil, Kentucky is located in the east south-central region of the United States.  It is known for its natural beauty and is home to Monmouth Cave National Park, the world’s longest cave system.  With a population of 750,000 people, Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky.  It was voted Lonely Planet’s number one travel destination for 2013 due to its abundance of artistic and sporting events, theatres, museums and parks.  Louisville is home to the historic neighbourhood of Old Louisville, the largest preservation area district featuring almost entirely Victorian architecture in the United States.
