Program Description:

University Information

Located Las Cruces, New Mexico, the college was founded in 1888 but became NMSU in 1960 and today enrols 16,000 students. It is a comprehensive research institution of higher education dedicated to teaching, research and public service and outreach. A Hispanic-serving institution, NMSU serves a multi-cultural population of students and community members across the state at five campuses.

Surrounding Area

NMSU is located in sunny Las Cruces where innovation meets the Old West. At the crossroads of I-10 and I-25, residents enjoy many recreational and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, and boating. The university’s main campus includes 2 libraries, a stadium and golf course.

Spring: January – May



Students must apply for housing in a separate application. Exchange students are encouraged to live in the Vista del Monte Apartments, (sometimes called the Global Village). These apartments have a shared bathroom, living room and kitchen, with private single rooms. 


12-18 credits at level 3 or 4.
