University Information

Goucher College was founded in 1885 and is a private liberal arts college located in the northern suburb of Towson, Baltimore, Maryland, USA with 2000 plus students.  In 2006, Goucher became the first college in the USA to require all of its undergraduates to study abroad at least once before graduation and its students are internationally minded.  Washington DC is easily accessed via public transport.

Maryland is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, bordering Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware to its east.  Maryland is one of the smallest states in terms of area, as well as one of the most densely populated states of the United States. Baltimore is the largest city in the U.S. state of Maryland and the 26th-most populous city in the country with a population of 621,000.  Historically a working-class port town, Baltimore has sometimes been dubbed a "city of neighbourhoods", with 72 designated historic districts traditionally occupied by distinct ethnic groups.

Housing is available but competitive. There are single rooms (for an additional fee), double rooms, and suite style rooms that are assigned based on availability.
